Creating your own daily routine and full control over your working hours
Creating your own daily routine and having full control over your working hours has become a priority for many more than ever before. With Wizi – the new name paving the way for the future of mobility – this process is now simpler and more accessible.
Whether you are seeking extra income or a new dynamic job where you can meet a variety of people, Wizi becomes your new partner in crafting your vision of freedom.
Every beginning is challenging when you’re on your own. That’s why Wizi offers its partners continuous support and training before and during the launch of their own business.
What do you need to get started?
The first step is to meet certain legal requirements in the Republic of Croatia. To register as a Wizi driver, you will need the following:
- A valid driver’s license
- A personal identification card
- A certificate of no criminal record – this can be easily obtained from the e-Građani portal in just a few steps
- Initial qualification for taxi drivers or meeting the conditions defined by regulations
The good news is that you already have 3 out of the 4 required documents, and you can complete the initial qualification in just a few days.
Wizi Partner – Start your own business
Wizi partners must either own a company or a sole proprietorship or be employed by a company or sole proprietorship engaged in taxi services. Driving as a private individual through the Wizi system is not permitted.
Therefore, the second step is to start your own business and choose a business model. For beginners, the easiest, simplest, and most affordable way to operate is through a sole proprietorship with a flat-rate taxation method.
Advantages of operating through a flat-rate sole proprietorship:
- Simple and inexpensive to open, close, and update information
- No need to justify expenses, and easy withdrawal of money from the account
- No bookkeeping requirements as with business books
- Lower contributions and taxes
- Family members of the sole proprietor can work without registration
- Sole proprietorship registration is possible even if you are already employed, allowing the sole proprietorship to be an additional source of income – the contribution amounts you pay are then reduced by 50%
Steps to open a flat-rate sole proprietorship
Opening a flat-rate sole proprietorship is straightforward and quick. Within a few days, you can start operating, especially if you register your business through the e-obrt platform, accessible via the e-citizen system.
Here are the 10 steps you need to follow:
- Choose the name, activity, and headquarters of the sole proprietorship
- Select a name and define the business activity and the location of your business.
- Apply for registration in the business registry
- Submit your application to be listed in the business register.
- Create a seal (not mandatory)
- While it’s not required, you may choose to have a seal made for your business.
- Open a bank account
- Open a business bank account. According to the new regulations, you can also use a personal account, but it is recommended to use it exclusively for business purposes.
- Register for pension and health insurance
- If you are already employed elsewhere, you can skip this step.
- Tax registration
- You must submit a tax registration within 8 days of starting your business activities.
- Pay Chamber of commerce contribution
- Sole proprietorships opened after January 1, 2021, are exempt from the chamber of commerce contribution for the first two years of operation.
- Maintain tax books
- You are required to keep and submit the following books:
- Book of transactions
- PO-SD form (submit at the end of the calendar year no later than January 15 to the tax authority)
- Decision on cash register limits
- Internal act on fiscalization
- You are required to keep and submit the following books:
- Pay taxes and contributions
- The flat-rate income tax is paid quarterly while mandatory monthly contributions are due by the 15th of the month for the previous month.
- Workplace safety
- If you employ other people in your sole proprietorship, you are subject to workplace safety inspections.
